Benevolence

The history of giving to others is a proud tradition of the Holiday Island Community Church.  Each quarter the congregation, through its Benevolence Committee awards over $3,000 to various local charities. Selected groups include, but are not limited to Food Pantries, Animal Shelters, Homeless Needs, Medical needs, and other worthwhile causes that make life better for our local population.

Church members may make suggestions of a need in the community that is taken into consideration for donations to be given. Many of our members volunteer at local charities such as Good Shepherd Animal Shelter Thrift Store, Flint Street Food Pantry, and Meals on Wheels.

In addition to helping local causes monetarily, we have several collections throughout the year for items such as food, school supplies, pet food and supplies, and a Christmas Angel Tree for school-age children.

Our Yellow Kettle fund drive at Christmas was created by HI Community Church to cover additional charitable giving in the community.  Several local churches and organizations help with this collection which goes to Flint Street Food Pantry - Pat Kasner Angel Fund Assistance Program. This program helps folks in Carroll County with heating bills, electric bills, gas, rent, and medical bills.

We welcome you to join our desire to provide a variety of Christian outreach opportunities. We are always looking for ways to increase our outreach and ministry to our community.  We try very hard to “Love Our Neighbor”.
