HICC Prayer Quilt Ministry

The HICC Prayer Quilt Ministry gives the gift of love and prayer in the form of a prayer quilt, to anyone experiencing a physical, spiritual, emotional or other life crisis.

The quilts are made by our prayer quilt team, and prayed over and tied by the congregation. The quilt, with information about the recipient and their prayer needs, can be found on Sundays at the back of the sanctuary.

We encourage everyone, whether you know the recipient or not, to stop by the quilt, say a prayer and tie a knot. Not only do the prayer quilts bring God’s comfort and peace to recipients, but they provide a powerful testimony to others who see the knots and begin asking questions.

  • Any church member or friend of the church may request a prayer quilt for anyone: Family, friend, neighbor. Local or distant. Church member or not.
  • Out of respect for privacy and other religious beliefs, however, we always ask the recipient if they will accept a prayer quilt.
  • Request forms are at the back of the sanctuary - just fill one out and drop it in the offering plate. A prayer quilt team member will contact you.

No payment is accepted for a prayer quilt. It is a gift of love and prayer - a tangible sign of  God's ever present Grace available to all of us.

PRAYER AND CARE - Is anyone among you suffering?  Let him pray.  Is anyone cheerful?  Let him sing psalms.  Is anyone among you sick?  Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.  And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.  James 5:13-16.

This is why we have a Prayer & Care Group.  We pray for the needs of people. We don’t know the answers.  God knows.  He will answer.  Would you like to join us?  We meet the 4th Monday of the month at 9:30 am in the Church Library.
